Coin Dimensions and Specification: 

The American Eagle Platinum Coin Series includes the primary 1 troy ounce coin along with fractional sizes of 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10 ounce, all minted from 99.95% pure platinum. The standard 1 ounce coin has a diameter of 32.7 mm and a thickness of 2.39 mm. The 1/2 ounce coin measures 27 mm in diameter, the 1/4 ounce is 22 mm, and the 1/10 ounce coin, the smallest, measures 16.5 mm in diameter. Each coin's thickness varies slightly to accommodate the different weights, ensuring consistency in design and handling. 

Coin Design: 

Obverse: The obvers features the "Portrait of Liberty" by John Mercanti, embodying the spirit and ideals of freedom. The words 'In God we Trust' are inscribed just below the coin's year of minting.

Reverse: The reverse design features a Bald Eagle in flight, with the sun rising behind him. The words 'United States of Ameria' are written at the top of the coin, along with its weight and purity. 

Other Coins in the Series: 

While primarily known for the platinum coins, the American Eagle series also includes gold and silver options, providing a comprehensive suite of investment-grade precious metals. All metals in the series are recognized for their quality. Gold and platinum Eagles are available in fractional ounce sizes as well as a 1 ounce size. The silver Eagle is only available as a 1 ounce coin.
